Join the Urban Design & Building Services team at Sandwell Council as our new Lead Energy Officer About the Role As a Lead Energy Officer, you will be an integral part of our Energy & Climate Change Team, working alongside a dynamic group of Architects, Structural Engineers, Property Surveyors, and Energy Management professionals. Your primary responsibilities will include: Overseeing Building Energy Management Systems (BEMS): Work with sites and specialist contractors to manage and optimize our BEMS. Carbon Reduction Initiatives: Support and lead projects aimed at reducing carbon emissions across the corporate and school estates through innovative energy audits and the installation of renewable and low carbon technologies. Energy Monitoring and Targeting: Utilize Systems Link software to monitor and manage the Councils energy usage and utility contracts to ensure compliance with energy regulations such as DECs and help identify opportunities for efficiency improvements. Collaborative Leadership: Work closely with the Principal Lead for Energy and Climate Change, contributing to strategic planning and the implementation of energy and water management services. Key Skills and Qualifications We are seeking a motivated and skilled professional who have all of the skills and experience required as stated in the personnel specification and including the following qualifications: GCSE English or equivalent. Relevant Degree or qualification. Demonstrate relevant skills, and training to a similar or higher level than the aforementioned with a minimum of 3 years relevant experience. Why Sandwell Council?
