Salary – Dependant on experience
Mowi are currently looking to identify an Environmental Analyst to work within the Company's environment team for a 1 year fixed term post until June 2025. Sustainable and environmentally responsible development is one of our guiding principles and the Mowi environment team play a key role in regulatory compliance, business growth and the environmental sustainability of our operations.
This role is a full time post and the successful candidate will be required to work 40 hours per week.
About the job
You will work with the wider environment team to support the delivery of the company’s site development programme, obtaining the regulatory permissions required for fish farming and to ensure full compliance with regulatory and environmental requirements.
* Manage individual licensing projects preparing applications to a high professional standard;
* Undertake environmental impact assessments where required;
* Liaison with internal and external stakeholders to cultivate effective and productive working relationships;
* Site development scoping and feasibility assessments using GIS mapping and constraints / sensitivities analysis;
* Assess, interpret and use of environmental / farming data in preparing licence applications;
* Support the delivery of environmental compliance as a core function of team activities ensuring achievement of business compliance and sustainability targets.
Ideal Candidate
* Qualified to a degree level in marine science or other comparable discipline;
* You will have a broad understanding of environmental issues in the fish farming industry;
* You will understand the regulatory environments and frameworks within which the fish farming industry sits and the implications of site development for licensing;
* You will have an appreciation of a range of environmental impacts and assessment techniques;
* You will be able to determine and implement effective methods of two-way communication with stakeholders such as regulators and community groups
* You will be able to critically analyse data, and report information that informs decision making;
* Flexible approach to working to meet the demands of the job;
* Ability to integrate into a team operating in a busy, diverse and fast paced environment.
