A little bit about the role…
We are presently seeking to recruit a Site Manager to join our Defence and Strategic Markets team.
You will be managing civil engineering projects across our varied portfolio of civil infrastructure works in safety and operationally critical environments across the UK and overseas.
Reporting to a Project Manager your responsibilities will include:
1. Controlling safety, quality & environmental activities
2. Site supervision
3. Health & safety management
4. Supervising labour and staff
5. Producing method statements and risk assessments
6. Site cost/value control
7. Programming
8. Commercial reporting
9. Client liaison
10. Organizing plant & materials
11. Supervising construction projects and overseeing build / construction activities
12. Liaising with clients and reporting progress
13. Management of sub-contractors
14. Cost monitoring and control
15. Control of health and safety on site
16. Quality control of all construction activities
17. Responsible for all correspondence and record keeping in accordance with Dyer & Butler procedures
You may currently be working as a Site Agent/Site Manager for a Civil Engineering Contractor or you may be a Sub Agent/Project Engineer looking to take the next step.
Ideally, you should be:
1. Degree qualified in Civil engineering (or equivalent), with a successful track record managing civil engineering & infrastructure projects
2. Project management & delivery experience within a safety critical environment
3. Fully conversant with safety regulations (particularly CDM)
4. Possess strong commercial acumen with knowledge of project management and NEC forms of contract, to manage day to day contract obligations
5. Demonstrable experience with both the commercial & project deliverables on previous projects
6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and motivate the people working with you
7. Proven experience in managing civil engineering and building projects
8. Proven MS Project skills
9. SMSTS
10. Proven ability of managing temporary works
11. Minimum of 5 years experience as a site manager
12. CSCS Card - Black
13. Full Clean Driving License
14. IT Literate
15. Proven ability to lead teams and manage subcontractors
