Our client is seeking a part-time Sales Support/Lead Generator to join their fast-moving team based in Northampton.
The purpose of this role is to drive new business for the external sales account management team.
Key Responsibilities
1. Ensure a high standard of customer service by creating an initial business relationship with all new customers.
2. Set up initial orders and delivery requirements.
3. Take ownership of solving customer issues through pro-active customer service.
4. Promote the sale of own brand products.
5. Brief all office staff and account managers on new brochures.
6. Produce and analyze daily margin reports, action amendments, and follow up on the progress of accounts.
7. Identify customers with spending capacity of greater than £1,000 per week and liaise with the Account Management Team.
8. Retain strong relationships with account managers, helping them acquire new business and assisting with their administration needs.
9. Attend monthly sales meetings to present KPIs.
10. Generate 10 appointments per week for account managers on prospective new customers.
11. Research potential customers by using the web and industry news.
12. Use company databases and account managers to build a database of prospective customers.
13. Plan sales drives on specific areas as agreed with the team.
14. Communicate weekly with account managers on progress and confirm appointments.
15. Use the quote system to provide customers with a basic price list from templates.
16. Produce a bi-monthly cask brochure.
17. Liaise with cask suppliers on promotions.
18. Provide key support for account managers; inform them of results from the 5-weekly report, ensuring they stay aware of business retention and setting up appointments for new business.
19. Input orders and review products and accounts on the in-house system.
Key Skills
1. Ability to identify potential customers within the hospitality industry.
2. Good specialist knowledge of the drinks industry, products, and the on-trade market - or similar would be beneficial but is not essential.
3. Cold-calling experience.
4. Telemarketing experience / telesales in the hospitality industry.
5. Self-motivated.
6. Ability to work independently and plan daily activity.
7. Use of Microsoft Excel for spreadsheets and records.
8. Strong communication skills.
9. Target-oriented.
The hours of work are 28 per week; the client is flexible on how this is made up, i.e., over 4 or 5 days.
