Join our team at Churchfield Veterinary Centre in Barnsley, where you'll play a pivotal role in providing high-quality veterinary care to our small animal patients. As a Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon, your day-to-day responsibilities will involve a diverse mix of consultations and surgeries. This could include conducting surgeries and theatre cases in the mornings, followed by consultations in the afternoons or evenings. Alternatively, you may have days dedicated solely to consultations. Our standard consultation sessions are 15 minutes long and are typically scheduled in two-hour sessions. Flexibility is key, with the opportunity to work a 5-day week, with shifts tailored between our practice opening hours of 8am and 7pm. While some weekend work may be required on a shared rota basis, there are no out-of-hours commitments.

Situated in South Yorkshire with convenient access to motorways and the picturesque Peak District, Churchfield Veterinary Centre is a well-established equine and small animal practice. Our dedicated small animal team comprises experienced veterinary surgeons, RVNs, student veterinary nurses, veterinary nursing assistants, receptionists, office assistants, and a practice manager. Our clinic is well-equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, including digital radiography, colour Doppler ultrasound, endoscopy, dentistry facilities, and an in-house laboratory. Additionally, we operate a small animal branch surgery in the village of Skelmanthorpe, just a 25-minute drive from Barnsley. At Churchfield Veterinary Centre, we pride ourselves on our exceptional client care policy, friendly staff, and robust veterinary support.
