Job Title: Mechanical Design and Engineering Manager - Hydraulics Specialist
Description:
We are seeking a highly experienced Mechanical Design and Engineering Manager with expertise in mechanical actuation systems and hydraulics to join our Innovation and Advanced Development division at Blatchford.
The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the design and development of complex hydraulic actuator systems, originating innovative designs, and developing CAD geometry to drive business growth and improve product development.
Key Responsibilities:
* Leading the design and implementation of hydraulic actuator systems including valve & motor control solutions according to technical requirements to meet business objectives.
* Generating and evaluating detail engineering CAD geometry, demonstrating accurate design intents, simulating dynamic motion, limits/fits and accurately defining methods of manufacture to ensure product quality and efficiency.
* Liaising with Systems engineering and clinical partners to capture user requirements, executing work packages inside our product verification and validation procedures to maintain product excellence.
* Originating and maintaining risk management documentation (ISO 14971), collaborating at design and project review meetings, comfortable presenting technical data, with recommended actions to ensure safety and compliance.
* Producing and maintaining technical documentation, in accordance with ISO 13485, FDA and an excellent understanding of the MDR requirements to ensure regulatory adherence.
Requirements:
* Degree in Mechanical Engineer or related field.
* Proven experience operating within a CAD environment.
* Experience operating within a safety critical or highly regulated industry.
* Extensive experience of designing hydraulic actuator systems.
* Excellent interpersonal and communications skills, comfortable operating in a fast-paced matrix organisation.
