This is a unique opportunity for a senior childcare lawyer / partner to step into a key leadership role, managing a well-established Public Law Children Team. The firm has built a market-leading reputation in family law, known for handling complex, high-profile cases and delivering outstanding results.
As the Head of Public Law Children, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining the department’s top-tier Chambers ranking, developing the team, and driving the firm’s reputation forward in the care law sector.
What We’re Looking For
* Senior Associate or Partner-level solicitor with significant experience in public law children matters.
* Children Panel accredited, ideally with a guardian following.
* Strong advocacy skills, with experience representing guardians and children (no local authority work).
* Leadership experience, with the ability to mentor, inspire, and develop a high-performing team.
* Commercial awareness and business development skills to further strengthen the firm’s standing in the care law sector.
* Someone who values social justice, is empathetic, and embraces the firm’s team-first culture.
Salary & Benefits
* Salary up to £80k with a performance-based bonus (approx. 15%).
* Fast track progression to Partner (if not already at that level).
* Hybrid working – up to three days from home for senior lawyers.
* 25 days’ holiday (rising to 30 after five years) + bank holidays.
* Birthday day off (or within the month).
