What you’ll be doing:
* Deterministic nuclear safety assessment for build andcommission of Dreadnought and future classsubmarines
Authoring of nuclear safety cases including results ofdeterministic and probabilistic analyses of the submarine build andcommissionactivities ALARPassessments of new and legacy facilities andequipment Definition, agreement, and implementation of safety caserequirements Potential line management and developmentresponsibilities for less seniorteam-members Management of internal and external interfaces, such asEngineering Authorities, Human Factors, regulatory bodies,MOD
Your skills and experiences:
Essential:
* Degree level qualificationin a relevant discipline (engineering or physicalsciences)
Previous experience in safetyanalysis and safety case production for high hazardindustries
Desirable:
* Chartered engineer (oractively working toward this)
Previous experience working for anuclear site and/or on the submarineprogramme Some relevant nuclear and/or safetydegree programmes at these universities: Heriot-Watt, Aberdeen,Cranfield, Strathclyde, Manchester, Liverpool,Birmingham

The Site Safety Team: The sitesafety case team is currently around 30 strong and is growing anddeveloping as we undertake the Dreadnought and Site RedevelopmentProgrammes. We are currently producing cases covering Astute andDreadnought build and commission and have responsibility forPeriodic Review of Safety.
