1 OBJECTIVE
Maintain all electrical services and machines in a safe and reliable condition in line with the latest regulations, production requirements and service schedules. As well as some mechanical maintenance such as Overhead Crane/ Lifting Equipment servicing and breakdowns.
2 SUMMARY OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Electrical supply installation and maintenance (12v/24v/110v/ Single Phase 230v/ Three Phase 415v).
2. Support Manufacturing with equipment testing (Motor winding checks and Fan and motor running during final inspection of heat exchangers).
3. Connection, fault finding and testing of process machinery and equipment.
4. Working to the 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (Bs7671).
5. Project planning and management - occasional.
6. Ordering and sourcing components and spare parts.
7. Working to Pre Planned Maintenance Schedule.
8. Weekly testing of Fire Alarm system.
9. Liaise with sub contractors for any specialist electrical issues that are outside the scope of the Maintenance Electrician.
10. Comply with all H&S legislation such as PUWER, LOLER etc.
11. Support in general maintenance activities to achieve department goals and objectives.
3 QUALIFICATION REQUIRED FOR THE JOB (Minimum formal academic required)
1. 18th Edition Regulations (Bs 7671) – Ability to work to this Edition.
2. NVQ Level 2 and 3 in Electrical Engineering Maintenance.
4 EXPERIENCE REQUIRED TO DO THE JOB (Minimum previous experience)
1. Time served apprentice.
2. Minimum of 4 years Experience.
6 Responsibility For Costs
1. Non decision making role on costs.
2. Cost of poor repair.
3. Cost savings due to repair of equipment, rather than buy new.
7 CONTACTS INSIDE AND OUTSIDE THE COMPANY
1. Supervisors.
2. Engineers.
3. Quality and Inspection.
4. Electricity Board.
5. Offices.
6. Outside Contractors (ADT, Omron, Electricians).
8 ANALYTICAL REQUIREMENTS
1. Fault finding on a variety of machinery.
2. Planning for new installations.
3. Reading engineering drawings.
9 MANUAL SKILLS
1. Use of hand tools and power tools.
2. Climb ladders / platforms - frequently.
3. Heavy lifting required - occasionally.
4. Dexterity – Electrical circuits and wiring diagrams.
5. Working in cramped conditions - occasionally.
6. Working at heights.
10 PHYSICAL EFFORT
1. Carrying and use of steps / ladders.
2. Running and moving cables.
3. Moving working platforms around the factory.
4. Walking around factories.
11 WORKING CONDITIONS
1. Inside and outside factory in all weather conditions.
2. Working at heights both inside and outside.

Pay: £32,000.00-£35,000.00 per year
