Building Surveyor (Project Biased) – Industrial / Logistics
The Building Surveyor will join an exceptional team working across industrial / logistic development and existing asset refurbishment (portfolio enhancement) projects across the midlands and northern catchment.
Location:
Birmingham (3/2 flexible working set up)
Remuneration:
£55,000 - £65,000 + benefits + leading bonus
The Role:
The Building Surveyor will join a proactive and dynamic team who manage an impressive 20+ million Sqft industrial / logistics portfolio across the UK. The role will report into the Technical Director in a very client/customer facing position, working closely with the property/asset management teams to understand the building data and implement future efficiencies through project work. The Building Surveyor will be responsible for delivering asset enhancements, PPM, and CAPEX projects valued up to c. £4 million, in addition to overseeing external consultant teams providing professional building surveying services such as dilapidations.
They are looking for a proactive individual with good experience managing projects across the RIBA cycle, alongside professional expertise to manage external surveyors and provide information to internal stakeholders across the portfolio. Experience and an interest in ESG and carbon-neutral assets would be advantageous. There is an opportunity for the individual to develop their project and development experience onto larger £5/10+ million developments as they progress within the organization.

Requirements:
1. MRICS qualified with a Degree in Building Surveying
2. Solid experience working across the RIBA 3 – 6 stages across a variety of new build, refurbishment, and maintenance projects
3. Good JCT contracts administration, licence to alter, and professional dilapidation experience
4. Sector experience in industrial/logistics is advantageous, but they are open to candidates with a good mix of office, retail, leisure, etc.
5. Commercially astute with good stakeholder management and reporting skills
6. Strong communication and organization skills to work within a fast-paced environment
