The Council is seeking an Assurance and Performance Manager in the newly formed Estates Service who can lead the establishment of new data, performance, and risk procedures and protocols feeding internally as well as cross-organizationally.
Duties of the role:
1. Lead Assurance and Performance monitoring activities to ensure the newly formed Estates service delivers compliant, financially accurate, sustainable, and well-maintained estate.
2. Utilise judgement, knowledge, and experience to influence outcomes, meet quality and industry standards, and ensure a clear view and achievement of Key Performance Indicators.
3. Lead the Assurance and Performance team with one team member, the Data Guardian, reporting into the Director of Estates.
Qualifications and skills required:
To be successful in this role, you will require the following attributes and an enthusiasm to assist with the establishment and success of this new function:
1. Performance and Assurance Management: Proven experience in managing performance, risk, and assurance within Estates, capital programs, or Hard Facilities Management. Ability to design and implement effective performance management processes and controls.
2. Data Analysis and Reporting: Strong skills in analysing complex data and producing clear, actionable reports. Experience in creating performance dashboards and delivering high-quality professional reports.
3. Strategic and Analytical Thinking: Ability to anticipate and resolve problems through strategic thinking. Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
4. Leadership and Team Management: Senior management experience, preferably in a Local Government or public services environment. Skills in leading and motivating teams, managing performance, and fostering a collaborative approach.
5. Communication and Influence: Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to build relationships, influence stakeholders, and negotiate effectively.
6. Project and Risk Management: Proficiency in planning, monitoring, and prioritizing projects. Understanding of risk management and ability to manage budgets and quality.
