This is an exciting opportunity within our Risk department in Milton Keynes or Manchester for a quantitative analyst within the portfolio modelling and forecasting team. As a quantitative analyst you will be responsible of developing, monitoring, and maintaining Provisioning and Forecasting models based on regulatory requirements, the bank's standards, and industry best practice. Provisioning and forecasting models are an essential tool in risk management and are used across Santander UK to manage the risk of decisions made by the business. If you join this team you will be right at the heart of what we do. The difference you'll make: Developing and maintaining predictive models to accurately reflect how the bank's credit portfolios will respond to changes in the economy Communicating with the other model development teams and business units to achieve an understanding around the models' aspects, regulatory and business requirements, ensuring that the models are delivered and maintained to high standards Providing clear technical model documentation to high standards, supporting and contributing to the model approval and implementation, responding to governance queries such as, from audit or the regulator and proactively suggesting improvements to how models are developed and monitored Ensuring that relevant model developments are of sufficient robustness to withstand independent scrutiny and challenge Producing and reviewing model monitoring reports explaining the impact of any changes in model performance to key stakeholders What you'll bring: These are the essential requirements you need to be successful in this role Experience of building statistical models using SAS in business environments and be able to demonstrate understanding of their function High degree of mathematical literacy, with a 2:1 degree or equivalent in a numerate discipline (Maths, Statistics, Sciences, Engineering, Operational Research and Physics); with advanced computer literacy skills It would also be nice for you to have: Experience in developing IRB Models Advanced knowledge in quantitative and analytical solutions What else you need to know: This role is based in Milton Keynes or Manchester. To support this, we offer site-based contracts with a hybrid working pattern and our expected level of attendance in an office is at least 12 days per month for Milton Keynes and 5 days per month for Manchester (pro-rata for part-time roles).
