Job summary This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a developing neurodevelopmental team - the successful post holder will be involved in the transformation of these services within LPT. The post holder will be responsible for leading on the provision of highly specialist Psychology assessment, diagnosis and advice on intervention with children and young people being assessed for Neurodevelopmental Conditions and to lead on facilitating on-going collaboration between CAMHS and the community paediatric service for the benefit of children and young people with Neurodevelopmental Conditions. The job purpose will be to: To provide highly specialist assessment, diagnosis and advice on intervention approaches consistent with professional standards to children and young people with Neurodevelopmental Conditions. The role will include providing specialist psychological, including diagnostic assessments, reports, development of formulations, and implementation of psychological interventions within the scientist-practitioner framework. To draw upon an extensive knowledge of psychological theory in order to interpret complex information and communicate this to others in an accessible way. To work with others including multi-disciplinary and multi-agency colleagues, and provision of specialist advice and consultancy as required. We would also consider applicants for Band 7 preceptorship to progress to Band 8a on completion of competencies. Main duties of the job The successful candidate willwork autonomously within the boundaries of the Code of Practice of the HCPC, DCP of the BPS, local trust policies and to be accountable for own professional actions. To plan and prioritise their own workload,supervisingwork of less experienced psychologists, counsellors, clinical psychology trainees and assistants. To be responsible for leading and contributing to service improvement and quality assurance of practice in the identified specialist area in collaboration with the Clinical Lead for Psychology and the Neurodevelopmental Pathway and Service Managers. Working independently accessing supervision and Continuing Professional Development to maintain highly specialist skills and competencies. Undertakingaudit, Research and Development within Community paediatric services and Continued Professional Development activities.
