Detailed job description and main responsibilities
To work as part of the multi-disciplinary team leading and providing dietetic input to patients in specialty and to liaise with other disciplines and agencies as required in the planning and implementation of patient care.
To develop clinical pathways with the wider MDT for patients treated within oncology and surgical OG and HPB cancer pathways.
Lead inpatient oncology dietetic services.
To provide highly complex nutrition counselling to patients and/or their carers requiring post registration cognitive behavioural therapy and use of reassurance and motivational skills to overcome barriers to change particularly where there is non-compliance.
To use negotiating and persuasive skills to facilitate effective service delivery within the specialty team.
To liaise with dietitians within the oncology dietetic team and ensure overall prioritisation of workload within the team supporting other members as appropriate.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
* Health Care Professions Council registration as Dietitian
* Advanced BDA course in Nutritional Support e.g. PENG course or equivalent experience
Desirable criteria
* To have attended relevant Post Graduate courses at Masters level or have/or be willing to work towards a relevant Masters Degree
* To have or be willing to work towards obtaining a Non Medical Prescribing qualification
Experience
Essential criteria
* Previous experience of working at an enhanced level with Upper GI and Oncology patients across surgical and oncology pathways
* Substantial clinical experience following graduation
* Experience of working in different clinical settings
* Experience of working in radiotherapy
