We have an exciting opportunity to join the Driver Manager Talent pool based at Nottingham!
As a Driver Manager, you will establish and maintain East Midlands Railways performance ensuring the highest possible safety and operating standards are achieved at all times.
As a Driver Manager you will:
* Live and breathe the East Midlands Railways vision and values to build a culture that integrates Driver activities and focuses on delivery.
* Line manage and support a team of Drivers, supporting welfare and ensuring employee relations matters are handled in a timely manner and carried out with appropriate levels of contact, investigation and in accordance with Company policies and procedures and supporting employment legislation.
* Negotiate amendments in working practices to improve efficiency and productivity, ensuring that Company and Local agreements are observed and implemented correctly.
* Carry out investigations into operational incidents involving Drivers and develop and implement action plans as appropriate.
* Guide Traction & Operations Training programmes and manuals to ensure course contents and instructions meet performance standards.
* Take active role in Driver recruitment, appointment, training assessments, examination and medical fitness.
* Ensure that all records detailing Driver Performance Monitoring system and incident points/corrective actions are properly documented.
* Carry on-call responsibility when required.
About you:
You will be an aspiring leader with wide technical knowledge and experience in rail operations and train crew procedures, systems, rules and regulations. You will have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to think clearly and make important judgements in a disciplined and safety focused environment. Driver competency is required for this role, applicants must hold a valid European Train Driving Licence and have a minimum of 5 years mainline driving experience.
An assessing qualification such as A1 or equivalent is desirable but training would be provided for the right candidate if needed.
