The opportunity
TBarnsley College's Sport, Esports, Public Services, Travel, and Tourism department is seeking a Teacher in Public Services to support students during a key stage of their education. In this role, you will work closely with Course Leaders and colleagues to plan, deliver, and assess lessons in Sport & Public Services, using effective teaching methods to inspire and guide students toward achieving their potential.
Key responsibilities include planning and delivering engaging lessons aligned with the Public Services curriculum, adapting materials to meet diverse learner needs, and assessing student progress. You'll also plan and supervise trips and residential visits that enhance learning, and collaborate with industry partners to enrich students' educational experience.

About you
We are looking for a proactive and dedicated individual who can quickly build rapport with students, using a variety of teaching and assessment methods to support their success. You will play a vital role in helping students reach their full potential and progress towards further education, employment, and bright futures. Your focus will be on achieving outstanding outcomes by consistently challenging and stretching your learners, with an unwavering commitment to high standards.
The ideal candidate will have experience supporting student success within an educational setting, along with a strong understanding of working with diverse learners aged 16 and above. A background in education with a focus on learner achievement is essential, and you should be skilled in maintaining accurate records of attendance and progress.

Required
• Degree or equivalent in a relevant subject, or substantial sector experience.
• Teaching qualification, or willingness to work towards a Level 5 PGCE if not yet obtained.
Preferred
• Relevant occupational experience within the sector.
• Experience teaching across a range of levels.
