An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic scientist with skills in data management and analytics to join the Scientific and Technical team within the Nuclear Medicine Service at Singleton Hospital, Swansea.
The department of Nuclear Medicine is part of the Medical Physics and Clinical Engineering service and has close academic links with the neighbouring Swansea University. It is a busy seafront department which offers a range of diagnostic investigations and radionuclide therapies. On site, we have two SPECT-CT scanning rooms, a regional Radiopharmacy service, an inpatient radionuclide therapy room, a mobile PET-CT service and a bone densitometry service. The Scientific and Technical team provide scientific and technical support to both the Singleton Hospital site and to Radiology based Nuclear Medicine rooms within Swansea Bay, Hywel Dda and Cwm Taf University Health Boards.
Main duties of the job
We are looking to recruit to the post of Healthcare Science Practitioner with a focus on clinical data management and analytics for quality improvement of Nuclear Medicine services. The post holder will support the use and development of digital tools in scientific and technical Nuclear Medicine services. The post holder will support the provision of training resources for M.Sc. students at Swansea University.

Job responsibilities
1. Supporting the provision of comprehensive information for nuclear medicine service output reporting, improvement projects and quality governance, involving complex analysis and interpretation of data.
2. Supporting the specification, design and development of datasets, data collection, databases, analysis and reporting solutions. This will involve utilising all available technologies e.g. Visual Basic, Python, Power BI and all Microsoft Office products.
3. Undertaking statistical analysis of trends, incorporating many sources of information.
4. Seeking innovative ways of using technology to support service redesign and streamlining.
5. Interpreting and determining information needs and developing new and innovative methods of using information flows which meet these requirements.
6. Supporting the team in the development of information systems relating to capacity and demand planning and data modelling projects.
7. Supporting colleagues in the production of the routine operational data requirements and ad hoc information requests.
8. Following change control procedures in the production and quality assurance of data generation.
9. Participating in the evaluation and utilisation of data and information currently available within patient and data management systems.
10. Supporting the development of lecture and presentation materials using tools such as Powerpoint and Canva.
11. Keeping up to date with legislation in relation to data protection, Caldicott principles and confidentiality, Human Rights Act, Freedom of Information Act etc and the latest E-policies.

Essential
* Educated to Degree Level or equivalent experience. Evidence of further development and or education and training. Understanding of measurement techniques to support information and improvement requirements for information analysis.

Experience of working with multidisciplinary stakeholders. Experience of measurement tools and techniques.

* Excellent IT and analytical skills with knowledge of IT tools such as BI technologies, SQL, and MS Office. Ability to interpret and advise on complex informatics concepts which would include statistical analysis of information e.g. capacity and demand models and use of Statistical Process Controls. Excellent verbal, written & presentation skills, track record of delivering high quality work in demanding timescales. Ability to develop and maintain effective team working and working relationships. Able to deal with challenge constructively, evidence of continuous professional development ability to meet the travel needs of the post.

* Welsh Language Skills are desirable levels 1 to 5 in understanding, speaking, reading, and writing in Welsh.
