Our client is a fast-moving, well-established (but growing) engineering business that specialises in the Design and Manufacture of Industrial Automation, bespoke Special Purpose Machinery and Process Control Systems.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Due to continued business growth and expansion; this is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Software Engineer to play a key role in the design and delivery of challenging technical client projects.
This position is high profile within the business with a significant amount of variety and autonomy; and will suit an experienced Engineer who thrives in a fast moving and rapidly changing environment; and who is capable of managing end-to-end projects through their lifecycle from concept through to design and manufacture.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Project Management and hands-on PLC/HMI Software Engineering.
2. Developing effective cross-functional relationships and appropriate ways of working with both the electrical and mechanical elements of the business.
3. Researching & recommending potential new technologies, processes and ways of working that could be beneficial to the company to optimise performance, quality and profitability.
4. Ensuring customer specifications and delivery requirements are fully evaluated and agreed with customers, both internal and external.
5. Effective self-management to achieve agreed targets.
6. Negotiating and procurement of materials, as appropriate in line with the proposal and customer requirements.
7. Communicating any issues that may hinder the achievement of agreed targets.
8. Installing, commissioning, servicing and supporting projects at the company and customers’ premises both in the UK and overseas.
9. Ensuring that documentation is produced and completed in a timely and appropriate manner.
10. Ensuring that agreed performance, quality, cost and delivery targets are met.
ABOUT YOU:
1. An experienced PLC/HMI Software Engineer with a background within similar industry(s).
2. Proven ability to work autonomously, prioritise and meet deadlines effectively.
3. Passionate and driven, with the desire to produce and deliver work/projects to the highest standards.
4. Able to produce PLC and HMI programmes for one or more of the following Programming packages, i.e. Siemens, Rockwell, Mitsubishi, Omron, Schneider, Bosch etc.
5. Experience of SCADA and PC based programming i.e. Wonderware InTouch, WinCC, LabVIEW etc. would also be advantageous.
6. Team player with the ability to mentor more junior members of the team.
7. Full UK Driving Licence.
