The role
We are looking for a Technical Surveyor to carry out detailed property inspections and surveys, providing technical advice to support maintenance, repairs, and development projects. You will ensure all work meets legal, safety, and quality standards.
Accountabilities
Your accountabilities will include but are not limited to:
* Conduct property surveys to assess condition, identify defects, and recommend solutions.
* Maintain accurate records of surveys, works, and inspections.
* Demonstrate excellent customer service in all interactions and service delivery, ensuring a positive customer experience throughout.
* As appropriate, support the Compliance Manager in managing compliance areas.
* Promote Gateway values in all dealings with employees, clients, sub-contractors, and other external contacts.
* Contribute towards and support the review of Asset Management Policies and Procedures.
* Ensure that policies and processes are in line with legislative and regulatory requirements as well as good practice.
Key Skills, Knowledge and Experience:
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience engaging with customers, colleagues, external stakeholders, and enforcing bodies.
* Extensive knowledge of risk assessment and Health & Safety management.
* Experience in building surveying or a related technical field.
* Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and regulations.
* Financial and commercial ability with a track record of managing significant budgets.
* Excellent level of knowledge of building construction standards and legislation, and an ability to diagnose and specify remedies to building defects.
* Experience of undertaking assessments in line with the Housing Health & Safety Rating System.
