Description Organisation: Leicestershire County Council Work Location: County Hall, Glenfield, Leicester, LE3 8RA Worker Category: Hybrid Worker Salary: £42,498 - £46,344 per annum Working Hours: 37 hours per week Contract Type: Permanent Closing Date: 17th November 2024 Interview Date(s): Week Commencing 02nd December 2024 An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Environment Policy & Strategy team to play a leading role in working with a range of internal and external partners and stakeholders to take forward the Council’s work on biodiversity and nature recovery. About the Role At the heart of the role is partnership working. The role will require someone that can work well with others, building and maintaining strong and effective partnerships and working relationships with a range of colleagues, partners and stakeholders, from the public, voluntary and private sectors. The role also involves managing a small team of professional staff as well as managing a range of projects. The successful candidate will have relevant qualifications and / or experience in the environmental field, and a proven ability to deliver projects and co-ordinate multiple responsibilities and tasks. Experience of bid writing, as well as securing and managing funded projects is important. The role will also involve developing strategic and policy documents as well as writing technical and non-technical reports and providing technical advice to a range of stakeholders, including senior managers and elected members. About You To apply for this post, you must: Have sound experience in collaborative working with internal and external partners and key stakeholders, and building positive relationships across peers, partners, and stakeholders, based on trust. Have experience of successfully managing projects using a structured methodology. Have a background in and understanding of the natural environment. Have experience of managing, motivating and supporting a team with a diverse workload. Be able to co-ordinate and interpret information and data from a range of sources, to support delivery of projects and enable effective communication. Have excellent written, communication and presentation skills, including being able to produce high quality strategic documents as well as providing relevant, concise oral and written information to senior officers and external partners. Be able to adapt to varying workloads and priorities, work to tight timescales and to agreed targets. You must also have an understanding of, and commitment to, equality, diversity and inclusion.
