We have an exciting opportunity to join our Facilities & Estates team as our Estates Manager (Soft Services)
Reporting to the Head of Facilities Management, responsible for the day-to-day operational use of the college buildings, ensuring the delivery of a professionally managed service that is effective and efficient, and meets the needs of the college.
With a focus on people-orientated services the Soft Services Manager is responsible for maintaining a healthy, safe and secure built environment through effective management of the in-house and outsourced services, including but not limited to Security, Cleaning, Waste Disposal, Grounds Maintenance, Parking, Transport, Porterage, Space Efficiency and Postal services
Responsibilities include:
1. To deliver a flexible, multi-skilled professional service that can respond to a range of core business priorities
2. Implement and develop appropriate policies, procedures and strategies to manage the estates and facilities in a safe and efficient manner
3. Ensure any contracted services meet pre-defined SLAs & KPIs and establish process performance metrics; tracking, analysing reporting performance in terms of quality, safety, cost, customer satisfaction and taking corrective action where necessary
4. Maintain a clean, safe and secure environment that prioritises the safeguarding of students, staff and visitors through the proactive and reactive management of all delivered services to the college sites
5. Deliver a managed estate per health and safety compliance requirements, the College’s policies and procedures, and all relevant statutory obligations.
6. Visit buildings regularly to carry out audits to ensure defined standards and instructions have been adhered to
7. To monitor and maintain the efficient use of space within the Estate, report on student and staff utilisation levels, and recommend opportunities for improving utilisation/rationalisation of the estate
8. Working with the Hard Services Manager, with a focus on reducing/eliminating energy waste and supporting the college in its approach to sustainable development and decarbonisation of the college estate
