Senior Physiotherapist Neuro Rehabilitation - Goole

The purpose of this post is to provide a high standard of neuro physiotherapy care within the Neuro Rehabilitation Centre undertaking all aspects of clinical duties as an autonomous practitioner. To provide specialist neuro rehab and support an effective discharge as part of a wider MDT.
You will be based in the Neuro Rehab Centre (NRC) at Goole District Hospital (GDH), working alongside the team, ensuring the service delivers excellent care to patients. The post would ideally suit an experienced Band 6 Therapist or a Band 5 wishing to progress into a more senior role. Development posts will be considered where candidates progress to Band 6 role on the successful completion of work based competencies.
You will participate in the respiratory on call Rota.
Main duties of the job
1. Perform advanced physiotherapeutic assessment of patients with diverse presentations and complex physical and psychological conditions. Use advanced clinical reasoning skills to provide a diagnosis and to develop and deliver an individualised treatment programme.
2. Responsible for managing own caseload and a defined area of the service, working without direct supervision.
3. Supervise, educate and assess physiotherapy students, assistants and Band 5 staff and provide specialist advice to other health care professionals in the specific clinical area.
4. Undertake evidence-based audit and research projects to further develop own clinical practice and development of the service area. Make recommendations on changes to practice to the clinical lead/manager. May lead the implementation of specific changes to practice or contribute to development of service protocols.

Person Specification
Education and Qualifications
* Relevant accredited courses or experience to equivalent level
* HCPC registration
* Evidence of Masters level study
Occupational Experience and abilities
* Variety of post-graduate experience in core clinical areas (min 1 year)
* Evidence of a range of CPD activities associated with clinical area of post
* Specific evidence of experience in the role related area.
Knowledge and skills
* Experience of student/ staff supervision
* Evidence of involvement in Quality Improvement activities e.g audit or service development activities
* Evidence of working to support staff /students in relation to HR processes e.g absence management/ performance management
* NHS experience
