About Waterside Academy Waterside Academy has recently joined The People’s Learning Trust. We are looking to appoint someone into the important role of Receptionist. Are you passionate about pupils’ education and determined to make a real difference to the lives of these pupils? Our school aims to engender a sense of community and belonging, and to offer new opportunities to learners who may have experienced previous difficulties by responding to learners in ways which take account of their varied life experiences and needs. The ideal candidate will be someone with: Previous experience in a receptionist role, preferably in an educational setting. Ideally proficient in using Education MIS, eg Arbor, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook). Strong attention to detail Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Excellent organisational and time-management abilities. Basic awareness of inclusion, especially within a school setting. Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion. A proactive and positive attitude with the ability to work well in a team. Ideally be first aid trained or willing to complete a first aid course. Due to the nature of work the above post is exempt from the provisions of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and relevant care/safeguarding legislation and appointment will only be confirmed if a satisfactory Enhanced Disclosure is obtained from the Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people and expects all staff to share this commitment.
