Description Summary and purpose of position: Reporting directly to the First Line Manager on shift you will be responsible for ensuring achievement of productivity and agreed key customer service levels through motivating your team. You will assist in site administration, communication and reporting as required. You will provide input and share best practice to support the current and future operations strategies and assist in the successful implementation of projects impacting on the site. Duties and responsibilities: Supervising a team of warehouse operatives Leading and motivating the team Be visible, available and lead by example. Managing day-to-day workloads Allocating staff to carry out tasks to ensure that tasks are completed within the defined operating procedures Deputising for the First Line Manager as and when necessary Interpreting and communicating team objectives to gain commitment to the achievement of specified goals and targets Ensuring all documentation, reports and statistics are completed in an accurate and timely manner Ensuring site Health and Safety policies are implemented and acted upon at all times To identify and provide solutions to ensure continuous improvement across all areas of the business Ensure site standards are maintained in hygiene and housekeeping Ensure mechanical handling equipment is used in the appropriate manner and any instances of abuse are acted upon accordingly Any other reasonable request made by the shift manager. Experience, Skills, and A ttributes: Detail conscious Confident and self-motivated Excellent organisational and planning skills Able to communicate effectively with all levels of colleagues & management The ability to work effectively in order to meet strict customer deadlines The ability to work on your own initiative yet form an integral part of a busy team High standard of literacy and numeracy PC Literate Flexibility regarding shifts Awareness of Health and Safety Practices and Procedures Supervisory experience in a similar role would be advantageous Previous experience within a customer focused environment
