The Senior Pricing Manager is responsible for supporting and implementing global pricing governance with appropriate financial controls and building related effective processes and tools in collaboration with cross functional partners. With direct line of sight to improving revenue and margin, you and your team will establish regular feedback loops that enhance the Product and Commercial teams' understanding of price realization results.
This position reports to the VP Product and Business Development and is part of the Product Portfolio department located in Cambridge, UK and will be hybrid. At Abcam, our vision is to be the most influential life sciences company for researchers worldwide.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
1. Work with the PROS pricing system, maintain and deliver pricing tools and reports that provide management and stakeholders insight into discounting, price realization, margin impact and price elasticity.
2. Monitor and understand external pricing trends, practices and policies, and partner with Product leaders in identifying and prioritizing key price realization opportunities, and develop processes to drive profitability growth.
3. Work with the VP of Product and Product team leaders and support all aspects of the Annual Price Increase (API) process, and provide analysis and input into the annual budget.
4. Work with the Finance team to manage the discounting guidelines across the Abcam Product Portfolio and support Product and Sales leaders at Abcam to ensure compliance to guidelines across commercial teams.
5. Lead regular price management reviews, globally and regionally. Provide Product and Commercial leaders with monthly KPIs metrics reporting on pricing related activities.
6. Develop contract renewal policies, procedures, governance and KPIs for the supply agreements and commercial revenue streams, with the focus on improving customer experience and simplification.
7. Collaborate with the Product team to build required training to drive price realization within sales teams.
8. Lead the team to benchmark and share the best price realization practices with regional Danaher OpCo counterparts.
The requirements of the job include:
1. Extensive experience in pricing or related commercial experience.
2. Knowledge of or have worked in the life sciences industry.
3. Experience being a people leader, with management of manager or supervisor level associates preferred.
4. Strong analytical and statistical skills with the ability to manage large quantities of data and must be comfortable with other pricing efficiency technologies.
5. Working knowledge of Oracle and Tableau and knowledge of PROS pricing system would be highly desirable.
