Main duties of the job
Have you ever considered a career in Pharmacy or would you like to expand your current dispensing skills across a wider range of medication?
Due to internal progression, we are looking for a dispensing assistant to join our experienced team of Pharmacists, Pharmacy Technicians, and Assistants.
You will be working in the main dispensary and duties will include: dispensing medication for patients being seen at A&E, inpatients, outpatients, and for discharges.
Ensuring medication is prepared and dispensed appropriately for the infusion suite is a key aspect of the role; therefore, attention to detail, an enjoyment of following a process, and good organisational skills are vital.
You will receive full training, including NVQ level 2 (or equivalent) in pharmacy services and gain experience of dispensing medication across a variety of specialities.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* GCSE Grade C or above in English
* GCSE Grade C or above in Maths
* NVQ level 2 in pharmacy services
Experience/Knowledge
* Experience with dealing with members of the public in a service capacity
* Experience of working in a hospital or other healthcare environment
* Experience of working in pharmacy
* Knowledge of prescription charges and exemptions
* Some experience using computers (ECDL)
Skills
* Good oral and written communication skills
* Able to plan, prioritise, and organise workload
* IT literate
* Proven customer care skills
* Quick and accurate dispensing
