JOB PURPOSE:
The Launch Coordinator’s responsibility is to co-ordinate the material, planning, and logistics aspects of new model programmes, for a specific range of part numbers, and engineering changes whilst ensuring there is no disruption to the business.
The successful candidate will manage new model introduction for the supply chain team. The position works with the programme coordinator and purchasing coordinators to scope the new model content, programme timing and pre-production planning to deliver the programme on schedule for supply chain. Managing the introduction of the Bill of Materials from engineering release through to introduction, generating part by part open to go trackers and running open to go meetings to assess readiness for build part by part, ensuring that all necessary reports and metrics are generated, issued, and maintained. Presenting programme parts status in gateways and the launch control meetings.
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Managing the open to go and master schedule processes for an entire new model programme.
* Scrutinising and approving Engineering Release packs and attending reviews with Engineer and other areas to assess impact of change and resolve potential issues.
* Calculating potential obsolescence at ERN sign-off stage and applying costings to the release.
* Setting timing of ERN Introduction dates to control MRP run-out of old level part and introduction of new level within all production areas.
* Working alongside the LLP, managing the introduction of engineering changes for new model launches and model year changes in production.
* Creation and maintenance of Open to go parts trackers / 100% BOM downloads.
* Running the Open to go parts readiness meetings, working with Programme, R&D, Purchasing, Quality, Manufacturing, and the 3PL/LLP to assess and record parts status and readiness for build.
* Report out on metrics to show the progress of launch parts into the business, presenting in programme and launch meetings.
* Reporting the status to the Supply Chain team and preparing reports for senior reviews.
* New supplier setup and training.
* Working with suppliers to ensure they are ready to support our production build requirements.
* Working with the LLP and other Supply Chain stakeholders to develop and implement the Plan for Every Parts (PFEP) such as line location, delivery method, transport, packaging.
* Representing Supply Chain in launch related meetings ensuring all relevant parties are informed of any concerns raised and action is taken.
* For Infor LN: Supporting the new BOM consumption and master data authoring processes.
QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE:
* Bill of Materials / Engineering change management experience.
* Material planning experience.
* Knowledge and experience of 3PL/LLP and warehouse management.
* Working in a cross functional team including 3PL/LLP service provider.
* Experience of using of ERP/MRP systems.
* Ability to communicate, together with the ability to work accurately and efficiently, taking actions as required to mitigate issues identified.
* Capability to report overall status, comfortable and confident in presenting.
* Experience of data analysis.
* Able to work in a changeable production environment.
* Excellent organisational skills of both self and others with the ability to manage and prioritise multiple conflicting demands on time.
* Proficient level of verbal and written communication.
* Strong MS Office skills including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

This role is offered on a fixed-term contract basis for the period of 12 months.
