We are currently looking for a dedicated Admin Officer to join the Royal Courts of Justice for a 1-month Easter Blitz Project. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to the smooth operation of the court system, providing critical support to help manage a backlog of small claim hearings within the County Court across England.
Location: Royal Courts of Justice, Strand Central London
Contract Type: Temporary (1 Month)
Start Date: 7th of April 2024
End Date: 2nd of May 2024
Salary: £14.75 per hour (with benefits including pension scheme and holiday pay)
Hours: Full-time (37 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 09:00 - 17:00)
Key Responsibilities
* Support the management of a backlog of court hearings for the London and South East regions.
* Process court orders and liaise with internal and external parties involved in the court process.
* Assist in court clerking duties during hearings, ensuring accurate documentation and efficient processes.
* Scan, transfer, and file documents, maintaining accuracy and consistency in records.
* Upload documents to electronic systems and databases in a timely manner.
* Communicate with relevant parties to schedule hearings, serve court documents, execute warrants, and collect fines and fees, including processing payments via chip and pin.
* This is a strictly office-based role; no remote working is available.
Required Skills And Experience
* Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with the ability to manage data effectively.
* Exceptional organisational skills with a keen eye for detail.
* A positive attitude and a professional approach to working in a high-pressure environment.
* Strong communication skills, particularly via telephone, with the ability to engage with both internal and external stakeholders in a court setting.
* A self-starter with the ability to work independently and take initiative.
Additional Information
* A DBS check will be required prior to the start of the role. We will assist with processing this.
* Candidates will be subject to security checks (which take 2-3 weeks) before their start date. All start dates are dependent on the completion of these checks.
