We are pleased to offer a new opportunity for a full time Housing Repairs and Maintenance Officer to join our well established Housing department.
We are offering hybrid working and so the role will be based at our Sidcup office 2 days per week, as well as working from home. The role is Monday to Friday, 37 hours per week.
As a Housing Repairs & Maintenance Officer you will ensure that tenants are provided with excellent repairs and maintenance services, including responsive repairs and planned maintenance, and we meet our statutory obligations through effective property checks and inspections.
You will also…
1. Ensure we provide a quality responsive and planned maintenance service, including arranging works within services and keeping all stakeholders informed of progress.
2. Ensure that all works raised from statutory inspections are addressed and compliance is achieved (e.g., Fire Risk Assessments, Gas servicing, electrical checks).
3. Manage contractors and ensure that work provided meets our quality standards and provides value for money.
4. Participate in annual property inspections and ensure that void works are completed promptly within agreed targets.
5. Liaise with partner housing providers to ensure that all legal and contractual requirements are met.
6. Ensure that all records are kept up to date, and any summary reports required by the organisation and its governance area are accurate and delivered on time.
Our ideal candidate looks like this!
1. Previous experience in a similar role.
2. Knowledge and experience of repairs and maintenance delivery.
3. Experience of working in supported housing, housing management and/or asset maintenance is highly desirable.
4. A good understanding of relevant supported living and registered care housing legislation is highly desirable.
5. Good administration skills including use of MS Office.
6. Good oral and written communication skills.
7. Ability to develop and manage professional relationships.
8. Ability to demonstrate confidentiality, sensitivity and attention to detail.
9. Ability to provide appropriate attention to detail and ability to get to the root of an issue.
