Team Leader - Employability (Community)
Location: Margate
Salary: £27,000 - £31,000 per annum
Offering an excellent benefits package, a friendly and supportive team, and opportunities for professional and personal development, we are looking for a Team Leader to manage a team of Employment Advisors.
The Forward Trust are a leading provider of Information, Advice and Guidance services (careers advice) delivering a wide range of vocational training, enterprise and employability services in the community.
What you will be doing?
You will be line managing Employment Advisors to enable them to provide high quality IAG, coach and prepare learners, clients and job seekers for the world of work and a range of job, traineeship and apprenticeship roles including:
1. To ensure our EA's accurately diagnose the needs of the learners/job seekers, to understand their challenges, career ambitions, strengths & development areas, future job roles and/or training opportunities.
2. To ensure our EC's deliver high quality end to end information, advice and guidance to customers/learners on our employability programmes in line with contract requirements and the primes guidance.
3. To promote and develop the mind-set, emotional intelligence qualities, self-confidence and esteem so that the learners/job seekers succeed in the world of work.
4. To ensure EA's complete goal focused action plans for all referred service users and provide support and motivation for clients to implement their action plans, and conduct regular review participant action plans.
5. To prepare CVs, cover letter and job/apprenticeship application forms with participants.
6. To introduce job seekers to a 'strengths based' recruitment approach to succeeding in job interviews.
7. To ensure EAs undertake job search with the job seekers using relevant web-based software and packages, short list, pre-select and match/submit learners/job seekers to vacancies/work experience opportunities, and arrange interviews for learners/job seekers where appropriate.
8. To get feedback and act on regular feedback from job seekers and employers.
9. To use the relevant case management and performance management system used by ES including any ICT packages.
10. To review and audit EC's action plans and other paperwork/documentation to ensure they are compliant and at the Matrix/Ofsted CIF standard.
11. To support the delivery of any partner events, job fairs, workshops and seminars that get learners ready for the world of work.
12. To ensure contractual compliance is maintained to the highest standard at all times.
13. To complete Q&C file checks for the prime.
14. Manage the petty cash allocation set by Operations Manager, within the process guidance.
15. Comply with safeguarding/prevent agenda, Health and Safety and other policies and procedures.
What are we looking for?
1. Experience of managing employability, IAG, careers advice or vocational training contracts (MOJ, DWP, ESFA).
2. Ability to oversee and ensure high quality careers advice support that ensures learners in prison to access careers in custody, employment and apprenticeships in the community.
3. IAG Level 4/Employability Practitioner Apprenticeship Level 4.
