Pulse Mental Health is currently seeking a Specialist Occupational Therapist (Band 6) to join our esteemed client base in Shrewsbury, Shropshire. Key Responsibilities: Conduct specialist Occupational Therapy assessments and implement therapy interventions for clients with complex physical disabilities as an autonomous practitioner. This includes using analytical and clinical reasoning skills, as well as appropriate outcome measures. Perform high-level clinical decision-making within agreed response times to support A&E four-hour targets. Analyse and clinically reason the risk assessment required for the physical moving and handling of complex, dependent patients to support their rehabilitation and address socio-environmental risks associated with rapid discharge home. Position: Specialist Occupational Therapist Band 6 Hours: 08:30 – 16:30 across 7 day work week Location: Shrewsbury Dates: Available to start immediately until 24/12/2024 Pay: Competitive, to be discussed upon application. Qualifications and Requirements: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy. Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) as an Occupational Therapist. Proven experience working as an Occupational Therapist within mental health settings. Sound knowledge of mental health conditions, treatment modalities, and therapeutic approaches. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with clients, families, and colleagues. Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams. Commitment to ongoing professional development and evidence-based practice. Previous experience working as a band 6 Specialist Occupational Therapist.
