A specialist medium to large scale shower solutions provider supplying the largest outdoor events and festivals in the UK and Ireland is seeking a Design Engineer to design, manufacture and deploy cost effective and envisioned designs. The Design Engineer will have strong 3D CAD modelling experience and have previous experience working in the manufacturing sector. In addition, the Design Engineer will understand all stages of the design process and gather bills of materials and costs.
Due to the way the sector works, the role will be divided varyingly across the year.

Key Responsibilities:
Winter (September - January) - Design and prototyping
3D model and CAD design
Fabricate detailed drawings
Produce assembly drawings
Collaborate on design discussions
Take original concept direction and apply practical design decisions to manufacture and assembly
Print 3D models
Spring (February to May) - Manufacturing and Full-Scale Prototype Assembly
Checking that the envisioned design comes together in the time frame imagined
Log and make variations to the design to increase the quality, robustness, cost of the products
Test the limits of the design
Engage in the large-scale assembly of products.
Summer (April to August) - Deployment
Project Manage the deployment of equipment at events/project
Add equipment to event CAD Plans, prepare shower installation drawings on CAD
Spend time on site at live events to gather info on what design mechanisms will work in its environment
Do previous duties as and when there is no project management work to be carried out
Knowledge, skills and qualifications:
Essential:
Have previous experience using 3D CAD modelling
Strong manufacturing experience
Able to show portfolio of past bespoke design projects
Ability to gather bills of materials and costs
Ability to understand how a design is fabricated and the resulting costs
Desirables:
Experience in theoretical and practical aspects of building service
Knows how water, power and waste are connected and distributed
Salary: £40,000 + £5,000 Season Completion Bonus + 40 days holidays + bank holidays (to be taken outside peak season, July to Mid-September)
