We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, friendly and caring Achievement Support Assistant with strong English and maths skills who is determined to help children achieve their potential. This will be working in lower KS2, to support pupil progress, including delivering small group intervention. A willingness to act up to cover a class for PPA, subject leader time etc is desirable. The role is for 19 hours to include 5 mornings and 2 afternoons for interventions.You will work alongside the class teacher, assisting the children with their work, support progress and pupil behaviour/attitudes towards learning while establishing good relationships with pupils, acting as a role model and responding to individual needs.The successful candidate will require a high standard of behaviour management skills, patience, commitment and a good understanding of the challenges and needs of all pupils. An NVQ Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent is essential.
You will be expected to liaise closely with the classroom teacher, colleagues and parents so good organisational and interpersonal skills are vital, as is an up to date knowledge of all curriculum and assessment procedures.
