Overview
Warringtonfire, part of Element has an excellent opportunity for a Safety, Health and Environment Business Partner to support our testing business for the Built Environment. As a member of the divisional leadership team, this position will partner with local management teams to support the implementation of our SHE program.
This position reports directly to the Divisional Operations Director working closely with the SHE Director and will be based at our new Birchwood Park facility. It is anticipated that this role will require frequent travel to other Element locations ranging from High Wycombe, Stevenage and Wednesbury and some trips to our site in Belgium. This is a unique opportunity to join a leading company in the Testing, Inspection and Certification Sector.
Responsibilities
Supporting divisional leadership to:
1. Integrate SHE program into daily operations
2. Understand their role and responsibilities and ensure appropriate resources are in place
3. Provide expertise, guidance and critical challenge
4. Support creation, monitor and report on progress against improvement plans
5. Coach leadership and operations teams
6. Support documentation of annual improvement plans
7. Support local SHE Managers and focal points
8. Facilitate completion of audits and management system reviews
9. Ensure locations achieve compliance with applicable regulatory and Element SHE program requirements
10. Assess opportunities for improvement, shares best practice across Element
11. Communicate and engage effectively across all levels
12. Monitor and report on improvement plan progress to Divisional Director and SHE Business Unit Director
13. This position holds functional responsibility for safety leaders based at each of our locations
Skills / Qualifications
1. Degree in Safety, Health and Environmental Management, Risk Management or Occupational Safety related subject (NEBOSH), or other related fields or an equivalent combination of education and experience
2. The candidate must have a strong understanding of country / local safety, health and environmental legislation
3. Minimum experience level: 5-10 years experience
4. Ideally candidate will have experience of either construction, demolition, industrial or manufacturing multi site-based businesses
5. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, customer testing specifications, design specifications, and procedure manuals
6. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
7. Clear and confident communicator
8. Must have valid driving license
