WGM Engineering have an excellent opportunity for a CNC Operator to join our Engineered Solutions business stream. The overall purpose of the role is to prepare and operate CNC machines to perform tasks such as drilling, grinding and milling. The CNC Operator will understand the specification of the task at hand and the desired result by reading drawings and plans and is responsible for translating instructions in computer commands so the machines can perform the correct function Duties & Responsibilities: Prepare and operate CNC machines to perform tasks such as drilling and plasma cutting/ Understand specifications of the task and the desired result by reading blueprints an mechanical drawings Translate instructions into computer commands so the machines can perform the correct function Prepare and load raw materials and parts onto the machines Prepares test runs to check if the machine produces outputs according to the specifications Set machines to complete full cycles to fabricate large numbers of parts/multi-tasking several jobs Supervise the machines whilst they execute the tasks and make any necessary adjustments to produce a better result Inspect and measure finished products and compare them with requirements to determine if the process has been completed properly Check and maintain machinery daily to ensure functionality Measure, examine and test completed component parts and ensure conformance to specifications Set up, adjust and operate machine tools and specialised variation tools in order to perform precision machining operations Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories and materials onto machines Monitor the feed and speed of machines during the machining process To be considered for this position you will have at least 2-3 years previous experience within a similar role type role, the ideal candidate will be time served, hold a valid CSCS card and have a full UK driving license is essential for the position.
