· Team-Teach Trained Learning Support Assistant
· Specialist setting in Wakefield
· Part-time, up to 32.5 hours per week, term time only
· £13.81 - £16.71 per hour depending on experience and qualifications
We are looking for a Team Teach qualified Learning Support Assistant to join a great specialist setting in Wakefield. The ideal candidate will have experience in supporting students with SEND, is patient, adaptable, and passionate about making a positive impact in the lives of children and young people with complex needs.
Key Responsibilities:
· Provide individualised or small group support to students with diverse learning needs, ensuring their full engagement in lessons and activities.
· Assist teaching staff in creating and delivering tailored learning support plans that meet the unique needs of each student.
· Foster a safe and supportive environment by applying de-escalation techniques and promoting positive behaviour management strategies.
· Utilise your Team-Teach training to support students in ways that uphold their dignity and emotional well-being.
· Track student progress and work closely with teachers and parents to ensure a cohesive and consistent approach to student support.
· Support students in developing essential social, communication, and independence skills.
Essential Qualifications & Skills:
· Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent).
· Team Teach Level 2 certification.
· Previous experience working with children, especially those with special educational needs.
· A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach to student support.
· Strong understanding of child development and the different types of special educational needs.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
· Ability to adapt to the diverse needs of the school and its students.
· Commitment to integrating the school's ethos into everyday practices.
