Overview
We are seeking a qualified lawyer to join our Employee Relations (ER) team in Glasgow. As an ER Partner you will play a crucial role in supporting a comprehensive Employee Relations program to meet business needs and ensure solutions are effectively integrated. This role involves collaborating with HR and business leaders to address employee relations issues, manage employment litigation, and support Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) activities across the UK and EMEA. You'll have experience in employment law and be adept at coaching and guiding HR teams and business leaders.
How you'll make an impact
* Collaborate with HR and business teams to address employee relations issues, including discipline, grievance, restructure, performance, and absence management.
* Act as a key team member in M&A activities, including due diligence and review of transactional documentation.
* Support and coach HR teams and business leaders to enhance employee relations skills and mitigate risks.
* Manage employment litigation processes, including pre-conciliation and drafting of ET3s, and liaise with external counsel as needed.
* Handle complex settlement agreements and employment cases in the UK and EMEA, coordinating with stakeholders and local counsel.
* Support consultation processes for business transformation projects, mergers, and acquisitions.
* Provide guidance on designing, maintaining, and interpreting HR policies.
* Deliver upskilling sessions on business change and employment policies and legislation.
* Stay updated on changes in employment law in the UK and EMEA.
* Collaborate with other CEOs on relevant projects to provide cohesive business advice.
About You
* Law degree with significant experience in Employment Law.
* Practicing lawyer in employment law, either in-house or in private practice.
* Proven experience in relationship management with multiple stakeholders at senior levels in a complex commercial environment.
* Ability to challenge, influence, and build collaborative partnerships across business boundaries.
* Experience advising on employment law in EMEA jurisdictions, as well as the UK, is beneficial but not essential.
* Strong negotiating and influencing skills.
* Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
* Commercial awareness.
* Ability to effectively organize, prioritise, and handle multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously.
* Experience working with a dispersed workforce.
* Eligible to work in the UK.
