Job Title: Sub Agent Location: Bridgwater Salary: Circa £50,000 - £55,000 A leading civil engineering contractor is seeking an experienced Sub Agent to join their team on a significant infrastructure project based in Bridgwater. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil works, with specific experience in drainage, Section 278 (S278) works, foul sewers, reinforced concrete (RC) works, and retaining walls. This role focuses on earthworks and sub-structure work. Key Responsibilities: - Overseeing the day-to-day operations of civil engineering projects, including drainage systems, S278 works, and foul sewer installation - Managing reinforced concrete (RC) works, retaining walls, and large-scale earthworks - Coordinating with site engineers, contractors, and client representatives to ensure project delivery within scope, time, and budget - Ensuring compliance with health and safety standards and maintaining quality control throughout the project - Supervising the workforce and managing subcontractors to achieve project milestones - Providing technical input, solving on-site issues, and ensuring that construction activities are executed in line with design specifications Requirements: - Proven experience as a Sub Agent or similar role in civil engineering, with a strong focus on drainage, S278 works, foul sewers, earthworks, and RC structures - Knowledge of relevant construction methods - Strong ability to manage and lead site teams, including subcontractors and engineers - Proficient in reviewing technical drawings and specifications, and ensuring accurate execution on-site - Degree or relevant qualification in Civil Engineering or a related discipline - Valid CSCS card is essential, SMSTS or equivalent is desirable Benefits: - Competitive salary circa £50,000 to £55,000, depending on experience - Opportunity to work on high-profile civil engineering projects - Career growth and development opportunities - Full benefits package including pension and healthcare FOOTNOTE: If you feel that you are right for this role technically, but the salary, location or seniority does not suit you specifically then please still feel free to send us your CV.
