Procurement Manager role available for a Client based in Alfreton.
This is a busy position and would suit a person with substantial experience in a similar role, therefore we are asking for at least 5 years' relevant experience.
You will ensure cost-effective and timely procurement of direct raw materials, equipment, and services while maintaining quality standards. Reporting directly to the Commercial Director, you will play a key role in optimising our supply chain and building strategic supplier relationships.

Essential
1. Minimum of 5 years' experience in a purchasing role
2. Deep understanding of the procurement function and supply chain dynamics
3. Budgeting and organisational skills working with accuracy and attention to detail.
4. Strong negotiation, communication, and organisational skills
5. Excellent attention to detail
6. Good IT skills, including experience with Excel
Desirable
1. Knowledge of industry-specific materials and equipment or qualifications in supply chain management/procurement.
Key Responsibilities
1. Purchasing Management: Source and negotiate with suppliers to secure competitive pricing, terms and timely deliveries.
2. Supplier Relationships: Build and maintain strong partnerships with key suppliers.
3. Market Analysis: Evaluate market conditions to control stock levels and storage locations whilst controlling costs.
4. Inventory Optimisation: Monitor stock levels and forecast requirements effectively and investigate stock discrepancies.
5. Cost Control: Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.
6. Compliance: Ensure all procurement activities adhere to company policies and industry standards.
7. Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams to meet project needs.
8. Tank Control: Establishing/maintaining system for control of suppliers' returnable tanks/IBC's/pallets.
9. Projecting and purchasing for major contracts based on sales forecasts and history.
10. Manage procurement and stock processes, including ordering, receiving, storage, issuing, and traceability of all direct materials.
11. Managing Utility/Service Renewals.
12. Record Management: Ensuring supplier records, component/raw material records and database is maintained and up to date.
Hours of work: 8.30am - 5pm.
Salary: £40k
