JOB PURPOSE:
Reporting to the Site Director & Divisional FD and leading a team of Finance professionals, this role will implement continued 'Best Practice' approaches to improve and sustain the processing of financial and data records on site, including weekly & monthly management accounts, supporting the pricing of products, accounts receivable for all customer sales, the accounts payable and purchase order system, the manufacturing accounting & costing of products, the daily reporting of on-site costs & productivity and the assessment of investment projects. The role is responsible for budgeting / forecasting and strategy reporting of the business model and for statutory compliance in financial, environmental, and non-financial areas where appropriate. This involves internal and external audit compliance.
Generic Duties
1. Create and implement the Finance strategy to drive site performance and continuous improvement.
2. Responsible for the delivery of the day to day Finance business requirements on time and within agreed budgets, this includes, but is not limited to:
3. Publishing of timely and accurate weekly and monthly management accounts.
4. Performance reporting - Developing, implementing and looking to continually enhance the reporting of performance, costs and productivity.
5. Manufacturing product costings - Ensuring all existing and new products are accurately costed.
6. Budgeting, Forecasting and Strategy planning is performed to business calendar.
7. Risk is continually assessed in stock, payroll, contracts, and cash collection.
8. Ensure statutory principals and routines are always followed by the team, and improvements to processes are identified and implemented. (Financial, environmental and non-financial)
9. Ensure all Finance processes (such as weekly banking, debtor & creditor control) are followed accurately, in line with company policy, accounting standards and audit requirements.
10. Management of the wider finance team including responsibility for the debtor, creditor ledger and payroll teams. Ensuring a programme of staff performance review, PDP's, succession planning and professional skills training are in place and reviewed at least once per annum.
11. As a key member of the site leadership team, take the lead on site wide strategic projects - engaging teams to take part and share in their success.
12. Be a Business Partner for the site director & designated senior department managers; providing advice and guidance across all Finance and IT policies and procedures.
JOB RELATED EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
1. Experience of successfully managing a fully autonomous finance function and running a program management platform for continuous improvement.
2. Experience of working in a senior Finance professional role and influencing senior business stakeholders.
3. Experience of leading a successful team and delivering financial strategy.
4. Experience of delivering commercial and statutory financial support.
5. Experience of providing frontline technical advice to support a diverse range of stakeholders.
6. Able to give clear examples of working with projects involving cross-functional objectives.
7. Able to create or implement company policy and procedures to ensure Company's legal obligations are met and in line with statutory compliance and functional best practice.
8. IT literate and able to work confidently with Microsoft Office and MS Dynamics Navision.
9. Able to work to deadlines within a fast-paced environment and with a varied workload.
