Position Title: Domestic Gas Engineer Salary: Around £40,000 per year Location: Gloucester and surrounding areas About the Role: We are currently seeking a skilled Domestic Gas Engineer to join our team in Gloucester and the surrounding areas. In this role, you will be responsible for servicing, and maintaining gas appliances in domestic properties, including private homes and MOD sites. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in domestic gas engineering, a commitment to health and safety, and be fully qualified with the required gas certifications. Key Responsibilities: Service, and maintain gas appliances, including boilers, cookers, and central heating systems, in domestic properties. Work across a range of domestic maintenance tasks, including on MOD sites. Ensure all gas installations and maintenance work is performed to the highest standard and complies with gas safety regulations. Conduct thorough checks and diagnostics to ensure gas appliances are working efficiently and safely. Provide clients with detailed reports on the condition of their gas systems and appliances, advising on any necessary repairs or replacements. Respond to emergency breakdowns, carrying out repairs in a timely and professional manner. Communicate effectively with customers, providing exceptional service and explaining work required in simple terms. Complete relevant paperwork and records for each job, ensuring all work is logged and compliant with current regulations. Participate in a call-out rota as required for emergency work outside of regular hours. Key Requirements: 1. Domestic Gas Qualifications: CCN1 (Domestic Gas Safety Certificate) and relevant gas qualifications (e.g., CENWAT, CPA1, CKR1, and HTR1). Gas Safe Registration. 2. Experience: Proven experience as a Domestic Gas Engineer, with a strong background in servicing and installing gas appliances. Experience working on domestic modular (mod) sites is highly desirable, but not essential. Strong knowledge of gas safety regulations and the ability to carry out work to the highest safety standards. 3. Other Qualifications: Valid Full UK Driver’s License. Ability to work independently, managing multiple tasks and clients efficiently. Excellent communication skills with a strong customer service focus. 4. Desirable: Experience working in a variety of domestic properties. Previous experience working with both older and modern heating systems.
