The Role
We are looking for a motivated Transport Planner to assist our Hire Desk Manager in the efficient running of the transport resources function. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop your career in customer service and transport operations while ensuring vehicle maintenance and adherence to legislative compliance.
Key Responsibilities
1. Call handling of customer hire and service enquiries, providing accurate, professional and timely responses via telephone calls and emails.
2. Liaising with drivers and depots in relation to planning deliveries.
3. Planning effective internal and external transport activity.
4. Monitoring and updating systems and reports to ensure accurate and complete driver and delivery information.
5. Support the Transport Supervisor with the management and monitoring of fuel and fuel cards.
6. Administrative duties to support maintenance of company standards and targets.
Requirements
1. Demonstrable experience in a planning or customer service role.
2. Proactive problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
3. Ability to work well within a team and independently.
4. Excellent geographical knowledge of the UK is desired.
5. Previous demonstrable experience of planning systems such as Syrinx or Big Change would be advantageous, in addition to some experience with transport reporting and KPI/metrics.
