Casual Exam Invigilator We welcome applications for this support post to commence as soon as possible. The Role We require a team of hourly paid staff to help invigilate internal and external examinations in October, November, December, January, March, May and June, at both Cardinal Newman College and The Lancaster University School of Mathematics, which is located close to the Cardinal Newman College site. The Exams Office is responsible for all exam entries and registrations and makes the arrangements for all external assessments, as well as for the formal internal assessments taken by students at the end of Year 13. Assessments take place throughout the academic year so we are a very busy department. We currently have four full time members of staff and a team of external invigilators. The main duties and responsibilities of this role include : Maintain the security of exam papers at all times and ensure that the conduct of the exam takes place within the guidelines set down by the JCQ. Collect question papers, attendance registers and all other necessary materials from the Exams Office before an exam. Check the exam room is set up in accordance with JCQ regulations. Ensure a calm environment to give candidates the best possible opportunity to be successful in their exams. Accurately complete attendance registers noting the arrival time of any student arriving after the start of the exam. Be vigilant at all times during an exam and record any incidents that occur. Collect and collate completed scripts at the end of the exam and return them to the Exams Office. For the full job description please see attached ‘Job Pack’.
