Headquartered and founded in Australia, CTM has offices all around the world, including Europe, Asia, North America, Australia and New Zealand. www.travelctm.co.uk About the Role The Senior Event Operations Manager will work closely with the CTM M&E Event Management, Groups & Meetings, and Event Travel teams, the Operations Director, and the wider CTM business to optimise operational delivery, ensure the highest level of service for CTM customers, and contribute to the growth of the division. This is an exciting leadership role, combining line management of a growing team of Events, Groups, and Meetings specialists, ownership and delivery of a diverse range of our clients’ meetings & events projects, and process improvement. The focus of the role is to support the team in providing world-class event coordination and project management services, to drive the efficiency of operational processes and procedures, and to contribute to the commercial growth of the business. Skills & Experience Minimum 5 years’ experience in meetings & events management, including project management of large-scale events (500 attendees). People management experience, able to lead by example, mentor, and inspire colleagues. Experience in setting and monitoring KPIs, people development and performance management. Commercial acumen – experienced in client and supplier negotiation, client pitches and proposals, and supporting new business opportunities. Excellent organisational skills – able to self-manage and prioritise own workload, as well as those of your team. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Flexible, prepared to work occasional unsociable hours during events, including weekends. Positive, can-do attitude. Ability to problem-solve, and prepared to make decisions when necessary. Event technology experience preferred but not essential (preferably EventsAir). Some experience or understanding of event-related travel management would be preferred. Additional languages are not required but would be beneficial. Key Responsibilities Line management of, and oversight of projects managed by, Event Management and Groups & Meetings teams. Overall responsibility for the project management and coordination of client meetings & events enquiries for up to 1000 attendees. Close coordination with Event Travel team and Operations Director to manage incoming enquiries, proposals, team workload and project resource. Ongoing review, optimisation, and identifying of opportunities for automation of operational processes, to drive efficiencies and ensure the highest possible service levels for our clients. Client relationship management, working closely with the CTM Account Management team, and working with the operational teams to drive incremental business through repeat bookings and upselling of additional services. Supplier relationship management, and commercial negotiation to optimise yield. Providing support to CTM Sales team on new business opportunities, attending client pitches where required and coordinating proposals. Working with the Finance team to improve budgeting, billing and reconciliation processes, and ensuring operational teams are adhering to them. Occasional travel and on-site event management/oversight. Why CTM?
