Morrisons Energy Services (TN) Ltd is recruitingfor a Managing Quantity Surveyor to work onour projects covering Scotland.
As the Managing QuantitySurveyor you will be part ofour Commercial Team who areresponsible for actively assisting the CommercialDepartment and project team to maximise profit and reducerisk.
As the Managing Quantity Surveyor yourresponsibilities willinclude:
1. Compile relevant information for preparation of reportsand claims to agreed timescales.
Assist with theongoing implementation of the commercial application in respect ofsite personnel at all time whilst developing lasting relationshipswith Business Unit and Project Managers.
2. Constantly refer tothe project risk management plan for thorough, accurate, high-levelrisk assessment. Monitor the register and any related documentationin accordance with the plan.
Ultimateresponsibility for all sub-contractor management. Ensure allsub-contractors and suppliers have submitted compliantquotations/enquiries/applications within the timescale required,and produce all documentation to select and secure services as wellas monthly assessments, variations/CE claims and final accountagreements through coaching of the QuantitySurveyor
3. Actively increase knowledge of commercialissues and contract law with a view to managing and agreeingcompensation events/variations/claims.
4. Actively suggestand develop processes for increased accuracy and efficiencyminimising time journal and reconciliationtasks.
5. Liaison with the Commercial Manager andQuantity Surveyor(s) to ensure appropriate commercial cover ismaintained.
6. Assist the team and Project Manager,Engineers and Planners with regard to recovery of contract coststogether with enhancing project profit by identifying variations,delays and claims.
7. Assist with production of monthly projectfinancial and forecast to complete reports for analysis withFinance staff and Commercial Staff.
Develop sound andbalanced negotiating skills. Attend whenrequested handover and progress meetings.
8. Help produce a sitecommercial manual and documents to recordvariations.
9. In accordance with our certification to thestandards OHSAS 18001, ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 each employee willcomply with and contribute to the effective implementation of thecurrent MES TN:-

* Previous experience in a Quantity Surveyingor Cost Clerk role
* Contract experience, capturing site recordsfor variations and valuations; supporting a projectteam
* Sub ContractManagement
* Cost / valuereconciliation
* Qualification in QuantitySurveying
* Graduate or “graduatecalibre”
* Full UK drivinglicense
* Knowledge of the industry would beideal
