For this role, we are looking for a qualified engineer with experience in providing office and site-based technical support on pressure systems integrity.

Your responsibilities
1. Provide technical support and advice to clients in the area of pressure systems integrity.
2. Development of risk-based inspection strategies.
3. Perform site visits to carry out plant inspections of components such as pipework, pressure vessels and castings/forgings.
4. Assess the integrity of components such as pipework, pressure vessels, and castings/forgings that are subject to degradation mechanisms such as creep, fatigue, corrosion and flow accelerated corrosion, in order to make run/repair/replace decisions.
5. Carry out activities associated with our Pressure Systems (Safety) Regulations Competent Person role.
6. Support and assist in the development of other team members as required.
7. Produce high quality, formal technical reports, on time and within budget.
8. Be an ambassador for nurturing internal stakeholder relationships and identifying future business needs.
Your profile
1. Sufficient educational or vocational qualifications/experience to carry out the role safely and effectively.
2. To be, or have the prerequisites to be, a chartered member of a relevant institution, or have an equivalent recognised professional qualification.
3. Familiarity with power and/or petrochemical plant.
4. Knowledge of degradation mechanisms relevant to power plant pressure systems.
5. Ability to plan and manage a portfolio of jobs to cost, quality and time.
6. Possess drive, energy and commitment with a history of delivering to tight deadlines.
7. Strong communication & interpersonal skills to build positive working relationships.
8. Ability to work effectively and flexibly, working away from home on occasion at sites both within the UK and overseas, typically for short periods of time.
9. Commercially aware.
10. A high technical standard of written and spoken English, including report writing.
11. High level of IT Literacy to support technical analysis.
Desirable:
1. Knowledge of pressure systems statutory outages; planning, site inspection and metallography, interpretation, component assessment and reporting.
2. Familiarity with power plant operations and maintenance.
3. Knowledge of relevant pressure part design standards, industry guidance and legislation, e.g., Pressure Systems Safety Regulations, Pressure Equipment Directive, SAFed and GENSIP Guidance.
4. Knowledge of any disciplines that impact pressure part integrity such as welding, cycle chemistry, quality control, boiler structures or plant operational behaviour.
5. Awareness of NDT techniques applicable to pressure system components.
6. Positive approach to change and contributes to the culture of continuous improvement.
7. Ability to co-ordinate work across multi-disciplinary teams.
8. Ability to recognise and take advantage of business opportunities.
