Description We are looking for a Class 1 driver to join our team at Wincanton in Blackburn on the day shift, where we provide logistics services for our exciting aerospace customer. As a class 1 driver you will be responsible for the collection and delivery of small to large high-value consignments that require special handling conditions. Double manned working with nights away. Cross training on warehouse activities may be given to offer flexibility and business continuity to the operation What will you bring? Must have a valid Class 1 licence Full DCPC Qualification Strong communication skills, particularly verbal, to develop good working relationships with colleagues and customers A responsible and reliable attitude Experience of multi drop collection and deliveries together with experience of working in a warehouse environment will be an advantage, although full training will be provided The ability to safely lift or move heavy items A flexible, ‘can do’ attitude as start and finish times may vary in line with WTD and EU Drivers Hours Regulations A reasonable amount of overtime will be expected Nights out and weekends away required in line with operational needs. Good geographical knowledge Valid and in date passport kept up to date for business needs. Ability to work well and develop good working relationships in a double manned team.
