The Opportunity
A highly respected Development & House Building team based in Reading is looking for a Senior Property Development Solicitor to join its ranks. This role offers the chance to support partners on complex transactional matters while managing an independent caseload. The firm provides a collaborative environment, with support available when needed.
Key Responsibilities
* Drafting option agreements, deeds, and contracts.
* Conducting due diligence and providing detailed reporting.
* Managing a caseload of development transactions, including acquisitions, disposals, plot sales, planning, and construction matters.
* Handling secured acquisition and development finance transactions.
* Contributing to plot sales processes and documentation.
* Identifying risks and providing practical, commercial solutions.
* Communicating effectively with clients, team members, and third parties.
* Developing an understanding of the planning system and its impact on development transactions.
* Participating in business development and networking activities within the property development sector.
The Candidate
The ideal candidate will have:
* 5+ years post-qualification experience in property development law.
* A proven track record of managing complex transactions autonomously.
* Strong experience in drafting, due diligence, and negotiation.
* The ability to build and maintain client and referrer relationships within the development sector.
* A practical, commercial approach to problem-solving.
* A willingness to engage in business development.
* Excellent communication and organisational skills.
