You have a opportunity to be part of this in the role of Biosphere Communications and Engagement Officer. Doncaster Council has made a firm commitment to tackling the Climate & Biodiversity Crisis, implementing a strategy aiming to achieve Net Zero Carbon by 2040. Whilst this will be a challenging target, we have a number of large scale initiatives aimed at reducing emissions, and a drive to implement these improvements across the borough. The post holder will work closely with the Regenerative Partnerships Manager to promote Natural Heritage in Doncaster. They will develop and coordinate a Community Outreach Project that will help understand how underserved communities interact with Natural Heritage. This project will be used to help the council apply for UNESCO Biosphere Reserve designation and will go towards designing the Biosphere’s management plan. The post holder will play a significant role in making region of Doncaster more sustainable. Sustainability is a high priority project for the council, it will impact not only on the Council, but also the City of Doncaster as a whole, affecting the Council’s partners, industry and its residents. They will build partnerships within the Council, external organisations, and general public to deliver actions in the Environment and Sustainability strategy and promote Doncaster’s Natural Heritage.
