W Talent are now working exclusively with a Manufacturing company located in Chesterfield, Derbyshire who are looking to recruit a Days Based Maintenance Engineer. This position will be working Monday to Friday and will be instrumental in providing operational support to ensure adherence to safety protocols, maintain quality standards, and achieve production targets. My client has stated that they would consider any background industry experience with a preference being manufacturing or FMCG. They are ideally looking for multi-skilled engineers but would consider individuals who are looking to upskill in the future.
Position Overview
As the new, days-based Maintenance Engineer you will be located at the Chesterfield manufacturing plant near Unstone-Dronfield where your main responsibilities will include:
1. Upkeep of all onsite machinery
2. Integration of new products into production
3. Root cause analyses for permanent corrective actions
4. Working on maintenance improvement projects
5. Maintaining machinery standards to ensure product quality, safety, and compliance
Key Duties Include
1. To supply maintenance engineering site cover for the manufacturing plant to ensure optimum production performance.
2. Ensure that Capital and Maintenance programmes are carried out efficiently.
3. Deputise for Maintenance Manager in his absence.
4. Support in developing and maintaining a fully functional Planned Maintenance System.
5. Ensure that the required spares are available for maintenance.
6. Perform running checks working collaboratively with the operators.
7. Responsible for H&S, COSHH, risk assessments, and manual handling for all maintenance activities.
8. Build strong relationships with all plant functions, working closely with the operators and the factory manager.
9. Manage maintenance spares and support in controlling the maintenance budget.
10. Responsible for all activities involving external contractors working on the site.
11. Deal with unscheduled and emergency maintenance work and breakdowns, including fault finding and necessary repair in a safe and timely manner.
12. Maintain factory services in excellent order and ensure housekeeping is kept to the highest standard in all areas of responsibility of the Engineering Department.
13. Contribute to the engineering strategy to meet future requirements.
14. Adhere to all policies and procedures and ensure that you respect them, including health and safety, the elimination of waste, and care for the environment.
Skills/Knowledge Required
To be considered for the Maintenance Engineer role in Chesterfield, Derbyshire, you must have experience in a manufacturing or FMCG environment. In addition, you should possess strong technical knowledge in electrical process control and systems engineering, along with a comprehensive understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems. A solid grasp of mechanical engineering principles is also essential.
